FOR ARCHITECTS

How I Work with Architects

I partner with architects to help churches move from aspiration to action on net zero. My role is to provide independent, permissions‑aligned decarbonisation expertise that strengthens your design process and supports your clients in making informed, confident decisions.

Independent, Impartial Advice

Church and heritage projects require trusted, unbiased guidance. I am not tied to any installer, technology or funding mechanism. My work is commissioned directly by the church, ensuring full impartiality for DACs, funders and PCCs

What I Provide

  • Decarbonisation audits and net‑zero roadmaps

  • Fabric improvement strategies

  • Heating and renewables feasibility (heat pumps, solar, battery, controls)

  • Costed pathways and funding strategy

  • Permissions alignment (DAC, heritage, planning)

  • Engagement with PCCs, diocesan teams and local authorities

Why Architects Bring Me In

Architects involve me when projects need:

  • A clear, trusted net‑zero pathway

  • Technical certainty to support design decisions

  • Stronger funding applications

  • Smoother permissions

  • Integration of decarbonisation into wider reordering or refurbishment

How We Work Together

  • You introduce me when decarbonisation becomes a key part of the project

  • The church commissions me directly

  • I produce a permissions‑aligned decarbonisation plan

  • My work feeds into your concept design, options appraisal or detailed design

  • We collaborate where needed to ensure technical and architectural strategies align

The Result

A seamless, joined‑up pathway for churches: Vision → Design → Feasibility → Funding → Permissions → Delivery

Together, we help churches steward their buildings wisely, reduce carbon, and support long‑term mission.
