KATHERINE HOWLETT

Sustainability and Net Zero Specialist

Katherine Howlett is a Sustainability and Net Zero specialist with over eight years’ experience supporting organisations on low-carbon, strategy, funding, social impact and collaborative delivery.

Katherine's work now focuses on churches and heritage buildings, helping PCCs and clergy navigate Net Zero in a way that is practical, fundable and rooted in community benefit, and she specialises in fabric-first thinking, co-ordinating grant-funded energy audits and feasibility work, and developing phased Net Zero pathways that reduce risk and avoid overwhelm.

Katherine works alongside surveyors, engineers and diocesan teams, acting as a calm and trusted point of support for volunteer-led PCCs.

Church Net Zero Action Plans has grown out of hands-on project work, including successful funding bids and live deep retrofit thinking. The aim is to roll out and replicate a proven, funder-ready approach nationally, helping churches reduce energy use, cut carbon, and strengthen their role as welcoming, resilient community spaces in support of Net Zero by 2030.

If your church is beginning to think about Net Zero, funding or building improvements, we're happy to have an initial conversation. There is no obligation,  this is simply a chance to talk through where your church is now and what support might be helpful.
